Question Sirius or XM Radio

A question for you guys/gals out there using the Sirius or XM satellite radio. Which one is better and why??? I've done a little investigating and XM seems like it has more to offer, but people I've talked to say Sirius is better??? Thanks guys/gals for your input.

I've run both and hands down Sirius is by far the best of the two. I had issues keeping XM's equipment running in my truck and whenever it did run the music variety on the channels sucked. I switched to sirius one day out of a fit of anger and haven't looked back since.

I have Sirius, and love it. The gear works great, the selection is great, the variety is great.

I have heard 5-6 stories (all first hand) of people switching to Sirius from XM, have never heard of anyone switching to XM from Sirius.

I'll hop on this bandwagon. I installed a Sirius headunit in my old truck, loved it.

The new truck came with a year free, I STILL LOVE it.

Honestly, I got it for Christmas last year because I thought I was going to miss Stern. Almost a year later I barely listen to Stern, but am never disappointed with the great programming. I have only messed with XM a few times in my in-laws Escalade, frankly, I'm not impressed. I'm sure if I listened a while I would find it some stuff I enjoyed, but geing a creature of habit, I am HOOKED on Siruis.

I have had XM for 2 years and really like it myself, but I am not much of a Howie fan either so I still use XM, I listn to a lot of talk radio and XM has a good variety

Nick, Tyler, you guys sold me on the Sirius. Now, what unit to go with??? I think this unit from best buy is great! Can take it anywhere it appears.

I have XM in my shop/truck and Sirius in the wife's Jeep.
I prefer XM, when I choose a station to listen to I expect that genre of music to be played, Sirius jumps around to much.
ex: Hair Nation playing Tenacious D??or Dio, Ozzy?
Octane playing rap????
come on get Sirius!!!!!

I don't listen to sports on the radio so that may make or break your decision.

XM has Andy and Opie and Sirius has Stern, who cares, don't listen to either.

Weather, talk, comedy and news are very similar.

That one looks nice. Mine is an older one (unsure of the model right now) I got off a kid I know with home and car kits, and a remote for $20. His mom didn't want him listening to is since it is uncensored. Worked out well for me

I just got Sirius for channel 128, the Nascar channel, been waiting for 6 months. So far I like Sirius. I only had 3-4 radio stations to choose from anyway and if I get too far from the interstate it drops to 2.

I heard a rumor that xm and sirius may become one.

My Alpine is pre-wired for XM. Last time I priced the unit it was about $300.00 bucks. These portable ones look like the way to go.

Yah. The unit wasn't cheap but I just didn't want another display laying around that I'd have to go and fiberglass into something to make it look like I wanted it to.

I've had both XM and Siruis. Siruis was much better. I have also experienced both the portable units and the direct wired ones. The direct wired ones will give a better signal volume wise. The portable ones use FM transmitters or wire in to an AUX-in (RCA or 1/8 inch) that's ok but not nearly as good as the intergrated ones. The only thing the portable ones have are the larger display and some pausing features but that is shadowed by poor audio quality.
