Simple Water Crossing

Can your truck do this? Mine can not...I like it at the end when the driver cracks his door open...

I dunno about that. One of my uncles crossed a creek in a third gen D-Series with water washing over the hood. I think the newer dodges would do it too...

Sounds like he needs to raise the siren to roof level.

I'll bet he was hoping that there were no submerged cars in his path. With no way to see, driving by braille would be the tough way to find them.

Should go as long as the air filter is above water. I bet the maintenance man wasn't too happy with the extra work on the fire truck.

I've seen plenty of heavy duty service vehicles that had fording switches... as long as there was a snorkel and a fan cut off switch, you'd be good. You need to check all of your cases after, as said above, but they make crap like that.

That is a general statement, I know there is more to it than that.

Had to throw my disclaimer in there...

Still is pretty impressive that he took the chance to go thru water that deep blind.

Local fire dept in my home town arrived on scene during the San Diego brush fires a few years back. Power was out so gates wouldn't open so they left. A lot of homeowners spent the afternoon in their swimming pools to avoid the fire.

FD wouldn't drive thru the gates to rescue them for fear of scratching trucks. Found out later they could have pushed the gates open by hand if someone would've gotten out and tried it!!
