Side Molding

We are getting ready to paint my 97(finally) and wanted to know what you thought about putting side molding back on after its painted. The side molding and the badges are going to come off so that its a complete job...
Ok...lets hear it. Also where can you get aftermarket molding...

Thanks
Rick

I am curious about this as well, the clear covering on my side moulding on my 96 started peeling, after I used the auto wash a few times. So I am thinking about updating or replacing it as needed.

OK....So where can we get it???? And I am also torn between replacing the stock 97 badges with the new ones.. If I knew someone good with an airbrush...I would have custom badges done.. Something like "Cummins Twin Turbo".....that would get some attention!

I had a place bookmarked that sold the entire kits, enough to do the whole truck like they used to do when they first came out, but I can't find the link right now. Might be in my Favorites at home, I'll take a look this evening and see if I can find it when I get home. Seems like it ran about $100 for the kit.

I think Forrest just painted over his plastic on the tailgate! I myself would not put the badges back on just the mouldings. I'm not interested in advertising for DC or Cummins.

Compared to the 97 side molding how does the 98 molding look???? It would be cool to have someone do the badges with an airbrush. I watched Chip Foose do the badges on that 56 that did of WyoTech...WOW what a great looking badge.

The truck is being painted the same color as it was from the factor with out all the primer spots showing . Any suggestions as far as different color below the holding or the stainless steel gravel guards.
There are a couple of new items that I will have on the truck in the next couple of months that will really get some attention...But for now I am ...and thats because Scotty said ...
Give me your thoughts...

Got it: http://www.trim-gard.com/precutdodgekit.php3

I'm pretty sure this is the manufacturer of the bodyside molding kits I was talking about. They have all kinds of molding, though, so you could probably just pick one you like and go to town with it. These guys sell the kits: http://www.auto-extra.com/catalog/pr...ducts_id=11262

Happy to help! I went looking for it a while back because I don't like the "cab only" trim on my '02 and I was thinking about replacing it. When I do, I might go with the earlier 94-97 style. I like the look of the trim itself better, and the way it goes all the way down the side of the bed, even behind the rear wheel.
