Hi guys I just built a new 30x40 shop I'm looking to install some lights I have someone offering fluorescent shop lights each light has 3 - 35 watt bulbs how many of these lights do you think I would need to run a decent work shop. The shop is ten foot high

 

I run T8's all the way around the bay and I'm still looking to use some HID's or T5's up top. Light output with fluorescents is all in the type of bulb, there are some lighting calculators out there, Just google it!

One of the things you need to know is what is the shop space going to be used for?
Warehouse needs less light than a work shop doing detailed work.

 

I run 4 down each side and it give me lots of light to work in the shop but my walls are white too!

 

6 6 tube t8s replaced 20 mercury vapor lights in our hangar. Just as much light but more shadows because they are further apart. Uses a hole lot less electricity too. Instant on, no constant annoying transformer buzz.
