That is FANTASTIC news!!!!
Right on!!! Hope they all get their names cleared. Here is a good saying "dead men tell no tales", maybe next time there might be an accidental discharge of a weapon and all problems will be solved.

I'm not in the military but have great respect for those that are. What I don't get is the fact that when in the line of active war duty how does one determine human rights? It just seems that these two phrases or comments couldn't possibly be used in the same article. Anyone help me understand this point or position? thanks.

It would have been better and safer for the SEALs had they just called in a predator strike.

"Application
The Geneva Conventions apply at times of war and armed conflict to governments who have ratified its terms. The details of applicability are spelled out in Common Articles 2 and 3. The reader should recognize the controversial nature of the topic of applicability. When the Geneva Conventions apply, governments must surrender a certain degree of their national sovereignty to comply with international law. These laws may not be entirely harmonious with their national constitution or their cultural values. Despite the advantages offered by the Conventions to individuals, political pressures may cause the governments to be reluctant in accepting its responsibilities."
Possibly guilty of UCMJ violation of "action unbecoming of a soldier" is all I really see them being guilty of. JMHO. That is if the jury agrees.

Here's a story fo you, terrorist blows up Americans, terrorist captured by Lt. Mike, interrogated. Lt. Mike ordered to return terrorist home, Lt. Mike asks that terrorist be interrorgated again, request denied, Lt. Mike ordered to return terrorist home.
On the way home Lt. Mike disobeys order and decides to interrogate terrorist himself, terrorist shot, gov't says Lt. Mike executed terrorist, Lt. Mike says terrorist attacked him, killed terrorist in self-defense
Lt. Mike sentenced to 25 years (now reduced to 15 years) in Leavenworth, expert witness says prosecutors withheld evidence from the defense that would prove it was self-defense
probably should have gotten a dishonorable discharge and maybe a small amount of stockade time, not 15 years in Leavenworth
