Re:sea stories
Well there was this one time I found myself surrounded,... Automatic weapons pointed at me from every direction, poised ready to fire..........I looked in front, looked behind, looked both right and left I knew I had only one chance............... So I gritted me teeth and charged!..... They got me...it was a horrible mess ;D
[/quote]
I will be running those bluing tanks again next week. For those of you who are not familiar with the process it involves boiling a large tank full of caustic salts at 295 degrees, constantly adding fresh water as the solution loses it by steam vapor and trying my dang fool best to keep from losing too much of my skin :'(

I spend a great deal of time on the water, and believe me knowing you guys are out there sure makes life a lot sweeter!

You just thought SF , Rangers, Seals and Spec Ops guys were nuts, ever see them coasties roll one of those High Performance Marine Interdiction boats in the water??
That takes major elephants testes.

I love this country and have the privilege of working with members of the United States Armed forces each and every day. I pray for their safe returns as I watch them depart for different hot spots around the world. They are our sons and daughters and may God bless them and protect them.
Re:sea stories
Several years ago I was TDY to MCLB Barstow. (Guess I better put this in a language that even Top would understand.) Anyway..................................
Severa l years ago I was Temporary Duty to the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Barstow, California working with some of my jarhead counterparts.
One morning, a first shirt came in with several of his aides and we just looked at each other for a minute or so, like we had met before but just wasn't sure when and where. Got to talking an it ended up we had been stationed at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama some 15 years before. Over a few cool, refreshing, adult beverages that afternoon, I found out he had a recon company and was getting ready to take some of his men out and jump into the desert and play in the sand for a couple of days. After a couple more of the cool, refreshing, adult beverages he asked when was the last time I had made a jump. I told him it had been about 20 years and I didn't have any desire anymore 'cause with 251 without a malfunction, I wasn't interested in pushing my luck. After a couple more cool, refreshing, adult beverages I became convinced that "just one more time won't hurt anything". After a quick refresher course on the square rigged chutes (lots of difference from the T10's and MC1's) I found myself loaded in the back of a 46 headed out over the vast expanses of the Mojave. We bailed off the tailgate at about 1200 ft into a clear DZ. The wind started to shift a bit and I found myself drifting toward the only joshua tree in the area. "Piece of cake" as I steered away from it to a more suitable landing area. Wind shifted again. Right back toward the tree. After traversing what seemed like two miles all over the DZ, I landed dead center of the blasted (notice I didn't use the F word) thing. The Doc spent 45 minutes getting the thorns out of various and sundry portions of my body.
Never trust a Marine, even if he is an old, partaking of cool, refreshing, adult beverages buddy of yours.

So there I was passing through angels 32 climbing to (classified) when a (classified) object of (classified) origin came up on my 6 and then did a (classified) after I did a (classified). During the ensuing 2 minutes, my skillful (classifed) operator and I evaded the (classified) object and his (classified) counterfire and flamed his (classified). After RTB, we briefed the (classified) commander of the encounter and then retired to the club for a few well earned (classified). That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

;D ;D ;D

~"Off we go, into the wild blue yonder" Dave
