What's up with all the skunks these days? I guess they're getting ready for winter? Have a few fresh kills comeing into work. Had Kaley out birding Thursday night, guess what... corners a skunk in a hole. She got a little stinky, but he must not have been in a good position for a full blast. Got her cleaned up but she still has a hint of it and there's a hint of it in the shower. Get home last night and I here some rustling in some duct work I'm saveing next to the house. Shined a light in there and the black and white jump out at ya like an alarm. Went into the house, grabbed the sig and tried spooking him out with rocks. He just kept stamping his feet but wouldn't come out. I had a clear shot but didn't want the ductwork stinktified. I grabbed the hose and blasted him, but instead of getting out of there, he just hunkered in. I gave up, escorted Kaley out and to the other side of the house to get her deed done, then called it a night. I think I know where his den is, so a big bottle of bleach is on the agenda, should drive him right out of there.

I am back, got pictures of the surgery.
Will post after I scan them. mmmmmm
Had some major damage in there. Time for a COFFEE.
Just before the surgery a porter came to take me to the OR and she had Lary's build. She also had BRIGHT RED lipstick on and stockings. She did not hobble though. I think she was wondering why I had this smirk on my face.
LOL

WARNING, WARNING, WARNING
DO NOT eradicate skunks with a .22-250. More specifically, at ranges of less than 100 Yd/M and on the road leading into the shop AND 50 yd/M in front of the boss as he's coming to work. The debris cloud settles to ground level in about the time it takes to drive that distance. The remnants of the debris cloud take about 2 hours of steam cleaning to remove

How about a .270 @ 50 yards? Luckly it was downwind.

That sounds like good Time-On-Target there.... you set up a trigger point or just "John Wayne" it? Targets of opportunity like that come once in a lifetime.
