RUSH to tour this summer

Alex Lifeson is saying their new album is nearing completion and there will be a summer tour to promote it. No dates yet, but there will be a stop in Toronto, and I'm THERE! That is all.

I hope I'll be able to make it.

I think that seeing a Rush concert is one of those things I'll really regret if I don't...

Of course Toronto would be on the tour, they have "roots" there.

Costa Mesa.

They blew me away. Wasn't really expecting much given their reputation as a studio band, but they were very tight and hit all of the notes.

And their bassist was hot.

The closest I've come to seeing Rush is watching their "Rush in Rio" DVD. 60,000+ fans at the concert. I highly recommend this disc for any Rush fan. And I'll definately be going to see them if they're planning a Midwest Canada stop.

They do an overhead of him on the Rush in Rio DVD. He's got 360 degrees of equipment. Absolutely unbelievable. A drummer buddy of mine is always talking about him. Something about a double-kick....

that and he has a set of electronic drums and pads that trigger different sound effects

I was very very fortunate enough to see them play their 30th anniversary tour in Sacramento, Ca in 2005. It was my very first concert also, my father and I went. I will never forget that day. Nor do I think any concert that I attend now will ever top that show. They played so well together, it was realy amazing. And of course Pert's drum solo was out of this world.

Did you guys know what he writes the majority of the bands lyrics? If you haven't already, pick up a copy of his book "Ghost Rider". It's a good read.

If they come anywhere remotley close to my area, I will attend.

I was just going to mention Ghost Rider. Interesting to see how he was dealing with the loss of his daughter and wife in a year. Traveling, seeing family and friends seemed to help. I've seen them, here in MA, three or four times over the past twenty years.

Do you remember the part in Ghost Rider of the kid at the gas station putting diesel in his bike?
