Question Which Route?

Has anyone ever driven from Texas to California Via Colorado I-70/I-80 ?Was wondering how much farther it will take going north then west across Colorado/Utah to get to Nor-Cal VS. the usual southern I-10 route?

What part of TX?

I have gone via I-40, but that was coming from Arkansas.

Look this over:

SA I-35 to kansas and then west on I-70 THRU salt lake city then 80 to Sacremento: 2471mi

I-70 then using utah 21/nevada 50 to I80 and sacremento: 2298mi

SA West on I-10 to I-5 to sacremento 1736 mi

We can get creative with how you want to hit I-70 but you're at 2200-2400miles.

SA is just too far south, it looks like.

I've done the I-80 route a few times when I was stationed in the Bay Area. That was my first experience with snow and motorcycles.

I'm planning a trip in September to Antelope, Ca (near Sacremento)

From H-town, through Albuquerque (see family for free night stay), then west on 40 to CA. I have stops in both southern and norther CA, so I'm looking hard at the routes and where I want to stop first.

When you heading that way?

Looking at your trip, it is even 100mi shorter to go north into WY and hit 80

All this according to MS steets n trips...Decent program for 30bucks.

Will-do Runamuk!

Have a good trip Hauler04. BTW, you could shoot up to I40 at some point and figure out how to avoid LA.

See ya
