Rotella DFA- Anyone using it?
Rotella DFA- Anyone using it?
I bought a 32 ounce bottle of Rotella DFA- Diesel Fuel Additive. Anyone use this stuff? I just thought I would ask before I dumped a full bottle into my tank and filled it with diesel. I just wanted to run a bottle through to keep things inline.

I use it when I can't find Stanadyne or I'm out of Redline -- which is most of the time. It's at Wally World. Doesn't contain methanol/alcohol, like some more popular brands. I use additives in every tank.
It's not bad; nothing's gone boom or gelled up, and when I had my VP44 in for service, there was no scouring. Seems to run smoother than with PowerService, can't tell the difference between Rotella DFA and Stanadyne, but I like Redline best. That's just seat-of-the-pants impressions, though.
On the Rotella forum, the tech people claimed they'd done extensive testing on lubricity and other factors, and Rotella DFA had scored very high -- for what that's worth.
