Roofers...?????????

Gotta question for guys who do roofing....

I bought my own gun and did my own roof last year...Now my Neighbor wants me to do his.... At least he's paying

I figured up he's got 28 square to cover with 3-tab...I think its 10/12 hip style....

What would I charge him if I decided to do this? I never got an estimate on mine, I just got the stuff and did it...Building trades class pays off now and again

$100 per square?? On second thought, that might be kind of high just for the labor. I really have no idea. Just guessing. I absolutely HATE roofing...so I'd find out what it's worth and then charge three times that much!!

$100 a square isnt far off...I saw a website from a contractor in MN $90 per square For just lay-down...No tear off...That was $100 a square more

http://minnesotaroofing.com/roofing_...or_only_ro.htm

Since I'm no contractor I cant hardly see charging that much...

Herrin? Does the roof need to be stripped or a go over? Go over in CT. with that pitch... about $175 a square (including materails) Stripped roof... about $275 to $300 a square ( all new materails and disposal of old roof). materails are new drip edge, new roof felt ,ice and water protection, shingles, flashing, and vent ridge....hope this helps you. DAN.

You may not be a contractor but your back will torn up because this is not easy work.. by the way if you have to strip 2nd layer is worth $50 per square. later,DAN.

10/12 is a toughy to work on - - be careful and be tied off to the other side at all times. Long way down. OUCH. Even loading a 10/12 is tough.

Yeah...especially if you're OLD (not that anyone around here fits into that category). I think our roof is a 6/12 or 8/12 and I just about kill myself every year trying to put the Christmas lights up. Luckily I have cat-like reflexes.
