Thought he would last longer. I really liked his acting abilities.

He was a really good guy, really down to earth and supportive of everyone around him. I was fortunate enough to be able to work with him as an extra in the movie Dirty Dancing at Mountain Lake in Virginia.

No I was in a short beach scene on the lake, just sitting in the sand as the camera pans across. Even knowing where I was I can hardly make out the back of my own head when I see it
The movie was filmed in fall and it was supposed to be early summer. Those pesky leaves on the trees decided to start changing color and there were guys in boom trucks painting them with green cans of spray paint
I felt sorry for one little boy that was in the same scene I was, his job was to run down the beach and jump in the water. The water was COLD and after the 10th take or so he decided he didn't want to do it any more. I can remember him crying to his mommy asking not to make him jump in the cold water any more.
I was on leave and a buddy was an extra in the movie, he asked me to come by because they needed a few more bodies. They paid us $35 cash a day and most the time we were wandering around, checking things out or playing cards in the hotel.
I was only there a couple days and got to meet Patrick and we went into Blacksburg with a couple other guys and had a few beers. We tried to keep to a dark corner but once word got out he was there, we had no peace at all.
I would not want the kind of fame those people have, a miserable way to live trying to hide all the time. We tried several different places but word travels fast and they were waiting on us before we even got in a place. Poor guy just wanted to hang out with some regular guys for a little while.
As far as the dancing thing, I was asked to wear a Tux and dance with a lady in a Night club scene just another couple on a crowded floor, but I refused to shave my beard which I had grown specifically for my job and needed cause I was going over seas 2 weeks after that.
