Love him or hate him... He was definitely groundbreaking. I personally loved him and will miss his satire.

Thats unfortunate.

He was the kind of comedian who could actually make you laugh until your side hurt, time and time again.

He'll be missed.

I always turn it up when he comes on raw dog.

His comedy I think was the result of a combination of natural talent, and hard work. I'll miss him.

He will be greatly missed... His realistic and idealist comedian stance was always my favorite!

Carlin was top notch in stand-up. His comedy made you laugh, and think. I was really looking forward to his next HBO special.

He will definitely be missed. One of the funniest and insightful guys out there. A class act.

i saw him in a pretty small theater many years ago, and he was hilarious. unfortunately, later in his career he seemed more angry than funny, and seemed bent on mocking and ridiculing most of 'middle america'. if i'm not mistaken, this change seemed to coincide with the death of his first wife, from cancer.

He will be missed for sure.

A lot of his comedy wasnt even comedy at all. He would take every day things that we do and tell us we do them. When its presented to us that way it turns out its pretty funny! I always liked the skit about celebrating Mickey Mouses birthday. Thats good stuff there and so true!

I'm sure he'll be looking down (probably up ) at us smiling... He had a good career.... Although mockery of God and us simple folks never impressed me but it's sometimes good to laugh at the ludicrous things in life I guess.

Whether or not you agreed with his position, he stood his ground on many issues.

Presenting current world problems with a comedic twist that was normally just right, that took talent.

He will be missed by many.
