Research/Focus Group, ever been part of one?
Got a letter from an outfit called Research Design Specialists. They are looking for people who currently drive certain model trucks or SUVs from 2001-2005 to participate in a vehicle evaluation. There is a little questionaire to answer and send in. It says they will contact me with a date/time for when/where the vehicle evaluation occurs. They pay $75 for 2-2.5 hours of my time.
Anyone ever participated in one of these things? Gotten stuff like this before, but ignored it. Thought it would be fun to see what its all about. I wish I knew if it involved driving some newer model vehicles or if it is just sitting in a class room answering questions about what you like/dislike about vehicles.
Curious,
~Rob

I was in one for GM years ago (I've never owned a GM product, so they wanted to see what it would take to capture a "conquest" buyer.) It was an interesting Saturday afternoon spent sitting in a hotel conference room answering questions and participating in group discussions. We didn't drive anything.

I've participated in several of these over the years. It's easy money, but for the biggest part, it boring.
At most of them, you go around and compare features on different trucks....interiors, bumpers, etc. It's not hard to figure out which company is the sponser. The last one was sponsered by GM and everyone in my group preferred the Furd interior.
One time I did drive a BMW around a solo track to compare Firestone tires against Michelin tires.

You were up early today Crobtex.
I think I might give it a shot. Might be fun once. That's $75 to spend on bombs
I get cards occassionally from other places to come drive a whole bunch of different vehicles at Texas Motor Speedway. Don't know how I got on that list, but next time, I might give it a shot as well.
