Replacing struts - alignment required?
Replacing struts - alignment required?
I'm in the process of replacing the struts on the front of the Wife's Pathfinder. Is an alignment required after replacing struts?
Also - I'm getting a decent deal on Monroe Sensatracs - they're supposedly geared toward a smooth ride vs. firm ride, and that's what the Wife will want... And they have a lifetime warranty...
Thoughts?

I would get an alignment- simply because the vehicle has done enough miles to wear out the struts, and there could be some other stuff amiss. Your tire life and also a small part of the fuel economy depends on correct alignment.

Most cars with struts use the bottom clamping action of the strut to set the camber. If you've taken one of them off, you should have allready seen this. Plus you'll never get the top back into the same spot, even though there is ver little play. Just r/r'ing the spring will make it sit diffrent. Definitley get an alignment.
