Re:Remember Pearl harbor!!!

This is sad but I was talking to a couple of vets( Nam) the other day . Happened to mention that the 7th fell on a Sunday this year. It went right over their heads.

On the other hand ( and I don’t wish to make people think I hunting a reason to be paranoid) can you think of a better day to hit the US again if you were a terrorist?

Re:Remember Pearl harbor!!!

I remember it every year because it falls on my birthday. But also because of the freedom I now have that the blood of the fallen bought for me. I salute you all.

Re:Remember Pearl harbor!!!

Did any of you get to see "Red and Rover" in today's comics? Starts with Red looking through the fence of a cemetary with the American Flag waving. In the next boxes Red says, "December 7, 1941...." "A date that shall live in infamy". He and Rover seem to be looking out at us. He then looks at Rover and says "Pearl Harbor was attacked that day." He and Rover sadly walk away with Red saying , "...And many a dog lost their boy forever." Puts another perspective on it.
My Grandfather (1907 - 2003) went to Pearl with the U.S. Navy after the bombing to help with the cleanup and stayed there working at the submarine construction base (we have his shirt badge with his photo and the words "Sub Base P.H.T.H.", his name "Elmer W. Warren", and his grade "EM3/C".

I am/was so proud of him and the others who served.
