I saw a program on Discovery Channel on a refinery explosion, it happened in the Cat Cracker as they got to much hydrocarbons into the bottom of the tower. That particular refinery did not have a burn off flame for the Cat Cracker overflow and so when the "gas" cloud spread out it found a spark somewhere and the place went up.

Unfortunately the oil companies will use this as an excuse to raise prices, I'm sure glad I filled up Thursday night and haven't driven anywhere since then.

 

I filled tonight at $2.99.

I think it will be mostly regional that gets hit hardest. Prices will go up all over, but I think midwest and texas will get hit hardest.

From $3.43 to $3.60 overnight at the cheapest place in my area. I think I am a bit far from the TX, midwest area to have this be a regional thing.
