Recent occupation..

Some may have wondered why I didn't post as much as usual- I had some other stuff to do, mainly restoring the engines on a 1971 IAG Nautica, a venetian brand mahogany pleasure boat. The first pic shows a moment of suspense for the whole team- after half a year of work:

Everything went well and we were on our way:

We had good luck with the weather for our initial shakedown:

and after that we had some nice evening weather and a lovely sunset:

We arrived a little late in the Croatian harbour of Porec

and did all the customs, registration etc stuff necessary. After a refreshing night on the boat:

(The thermo shows 5C = 41F).
we did some more testing and found all was good, engines running nicely, no water through the hull and only minor stuff that needs to be improved.
A lot of pics can be found here
but beware it's unsorted material and some of them show why you shouldn't apply salt water on a digital camera....

Just thought I'd share these impressions.

For those interested, the boat is powered by 2 Volvo Penta 8.5L I6 Cyl turbodiesels with intercooler, set up for 250hp per pc, original equipment for this boat in 1971.

I'll try to dig up some pics of them - didn't think about getting a sound sample.

Nice boat, something about wooden hulls make them classic. You always have great pictures. Thanks for posting.
