Real ID RFID?
I got an emial today that smells like an urban legend, but I can not find it on Snopes. Anyone heard of a Homeland Security bill tagged to the Katrina relief fund to impliment a national ID card program with RFID technology. The email claims full implimentation by May of 2008 which seems impossible and sets off the BS meter. Smells funny ......

There's no plan in the works to implement a national ID card system. However, there are plans to implement RFID into passports. Unfortunately, there are some bugs in the system which have yet to be fixed.

Snopes won't have it if it's true...
HB 253 of the last session laid out the implementation schedule for the RFID tags inside the new cards. Worse yet, since most of us would never stand for the government invading our privacy for tracking/identification purposes (all in the name of anti-crime, anti-terror, even anti-#2 smoke), those booster shots they give our kids in school will have the tiny RFID tags loaded up and ready to go! That way by the time they're old enough to vote against it - it'll be too late.
They've been doing that to pets for years - works way better than metal tags (some soldiers have had that done for years also).
If all this hasn't made ya grab hold of yourself in abject fear, consider this: F**d bought the Chinese company that produces all of the forgings for the new CumminGs ULSD diesel...
