Read any Good Books Recently?

I really like Tom Clancy's books.
I just finished "Teeth of the Tiger", and have read all of the "Ryanverse" books from the beginning.
Patriot Games,
Clear and Present Danger,
The Hunt for Red October,
Cardinal of the Kremlin,
The Sum of All Fears,
Debt of Honor,
Executive Orders,
Without Remorse,
Rainbow Six,
The Bear and the Dragon,
Red Rabbit,
and The Teeth of the Tiger.
I tried reading some of his co-authored series, Politika and Net Force,
but they lacked Clancy's depth, so I didn't continue with those series.
All his books take a while to get to the meat of the story, lots of character development and
technobabble, but once the action starts, it continues on to the end.
Rumor has it "Teeth of the Tiger" is the last of the "Ryan-verse" novels, I hope Clancy
changes his mind and continues, otherwise I won't be reading much.

If you like those, you might try Patrick O'Brian, he wrote a 21 book series about late 18th, early 19th century naval warfare. Most of the exploits in the books actually took place, they are just attributed all to the fictional Captain in the book. 1st one is called "Post Captain".

Similar to the Jack Ryan series from Clancy, but overall a more historical read.

"Semper Fi" - "Retreat, Hell!" Another great series

"Last Heros" - "The Fighting Agents"

I also like John Sanfords "Prey" series.
Anything by Tess Garrison, Harlen Coben, Phillip Margoylan, Jeffery Dever.....on and on ....

i haven't read a book since highschool... i can't sit down and read a book. it can take me 10 minutes to read a single page in a book as i get lost and have to reread everything again.

Agreed, "Where the Red Fern Grows" is my favorite book. I dont know how many times I've read it, but I've got a wore out copy at home. Its a very, very good book, everybody should be made to read it.
I was in the bookstore the other day, and run across a book written by Arnolod Schwarzenegger, called "Arnold-The Education of a Body Builder." Picked it up and started reading it, and it is good(probably going to be critized for this one, but other people who work out-or try to like me with a hectic schedule will understand). I havent got too far in it, because I have been reading textbooks for class

1. Marine Sniper by Charles W. Henderson
book about sniper Carlos Hatchcock in vietnam.
2. Don't Waste Your Life by John Piper
very easy reading but not something to take lightly.
3. Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis(that one is slow reading unless you're really smart)
Yeah the last two are "religious" books but they give you a good picture of what real christianity is as opposed to what the mainstream american church depicts. just a warning if you read either...you'll either toss out any morals you hang on to or you'll start WANTING to read the Bible.
Rainbow Six has already been listed a few times but that one's good too.
Anyone know of any good AF spec ops books or are those guys too recent to be writing about? cct or pj? pj's are crazy dudes.

Yeah, there' are probably enuff Hoss adventures in there to make a book. Maybe even a movie... could probably find a narator like the guy that use to do all those old Disney movies about lost animals.

I just finished "The Da Vinci Code" it's a great book! People should take it for what it is a novel! He clearly states at the front of the book that it is a work of fiction. That said it was a great suspense novel.
