Take the bet, then take his money. Even if yours is a manual, he'll be lucky to manage a mid 15 in a regular cab with just superchips.

Ummm, that's not right. My CrewCab Superduty with stock everything except DP Tuner went 14.96. Don't think there's a stock cummins able to do that.

It took me..

Injectors, Turbo, Fuel system, BTS Trans, and a few other hardware items to help keep it all together to make 450+

What were the EGT's with a Tipton tune and nothing to support it? My stock 02 7.3 got warm in a hurry at WOT with a Superchips on the middle setting. Plus it boosted to about 29-31 PSI on the stock turbo/airbox. It would do it but I think long term the boost on the stock turbo or EGT's would be bad news. Nice run though!

Ok Ill agree DP tuners can make those things run, but thats about it, for chip only

Straight pipe it and put a DIY intake on it. I could stand on it all day long and not break 1300*

Tony @ TDP, David @ DI, Tadd @ Elite, Eric @ Innovative, Cale @ BTS... the list goes on of people who can tune the 7.3's to run "fast" for what they are.

the only powerstroke around here that has any power locally has about 470rwhp and he has injectors, turbos, tranny, fuel system etc. my truck made almost with a smarty alone. I would put you smarty on the highest level you can without your trans slipping and let it eat. some people say they hold 9 and others say they wont. ive seen alot of 7.3s dyno with alot of mods and make 330rwhp around in there. I would say you shouldnt have a problem beating him but he maybe lying if he is so confident about winning he may have alot more mods than what he says he does

You can see the straight pipe in my pics along with the AIS I settled on after trying the Tymar open element filter. The 02 did not have a cat from the factory. Opened up as much as possible on both ends and the factory turbo was still the problem for me. Add another wheel & housing or fool the wastgate, good running trucks I agree..."all day long" with no supporting mods is what we disagree on. Next round of cold ones on me!

I had a 99 with a Superchip on it for just under two years. It ran really well, never did a 1/4 mile run though. My buddy's 03 with just a Bully Dog killed me, so an 06 with a Smarty without a doubt will do even worse. I have seen most 06's with Smarty's do well past 400 and even more than 450hp depending on the settings. I was there to see JWB600's 460+ dyno run on a Smarty. I don't think a superchip on a 7.3 will do a whole lot more than 300ish.
