Raced the truck

Well I was itching for a couple drag runs and with my integra and impala both not in working order I decided to run the truck

19.354 @ 71.25
60' 3.051

Mean burnout, no tirespin, mashed, full fuel tank, only performance mods are intake and straight pipe

so after all that.. is that a decent time or is that just stupidly slow?

Re:Raced the truck

I'll bet you could lose about .2 or so seconds if you raced with only a 1/4 tank of fuel.

Re:Raced the truck

I know I have to be running somewhere in the 15's cause I can beat dead stock (and even modded) V6 stangs through the 1/4 mile.

Re:Raced the truck

I have once heard that for every 100 pounds you take off you take a tenth off your 1/4 mile time.

Re:Raced the truck

I didn't do any burnouts to warm the tires but was able to get down to 14.86 at 96 mph, my truck weighs almost 8,000#.
Bruce

Bone stock = 17.53 I'll have to find the time slip for the other info. It was only the second run and I broke out on a 17.55 dial-in. Still had fun and was suprised that it ran that good! ;D

Re:Raced the truck

We don't have any 1/4 tracks close (about 2 hrs away) and I haven't measured any place yet to try. But my 0 - 60 mph is under 8 seconds, truck weighing in around 6700 lbs. Tires starting to go a little bald so I haven't tried lately. But after inspection in August, watch out.... LOL

Re:Raced the truck

I had an oppertunity to run at the local track in Florida a couple of months ago Moroso Motor Sport Park in Palm Beach. I found out allot of things I did not know and met some really cool people who are overcrazed twin turbo/header NOS diesel nuts.

( William Lujan Motor sports Miami, FL) and the guys.

My truck is a 4X4 so I did a launch in it.

my best run was:
R/T .998
60' 1.974
330 5.650
1/8 8.713
MPH 80.78
1000 11.356
1/4 13.597
MPH 101.

Lots of things to work on.
1)The proper way to stage.
2) How much boost to take of in.
3) do not go through the water box.

But for the first time out I thought that the 7,130lb truck did great. I am going to make some changes intake and exhaust and next week run again, hope to get in the high 12,s will see. OverFueled
