Raced a pwrstroke on wed

I pull up to a stop light with just the 5er on and a new style stroke pulls up. He had gauges so I knew he wasnt stock. He also had a crew cab and an auto. He was pulling an enclosed snowmobile trailer. I dont know if anything was in it but I didnt care. He revved it up and the wife just says NO! Green light and I spin em a little and the wife is going ballistic. He got me from the jump cause I was shifting and at about 3rd or 4th I started pulling fast. The rear of his truck was at the front of my truck. Once I hit 4th I pulled on him so fast he didnt know what was coming. All this time the wife is screaming YOUR PULLING THE CAMPER GOSH DAMMIT (EDIT). I MEAN SCREAMING. I had him by about 40 ft but had to stop because of stop light. I pull up to the light and their were 4 dudes in their giving me the thumbs up. Except the driver. It was totally awesome. I was at least pulling twice the weight. After she calmed down I did get her to say it was pretty cool passing them and watching them young ins get passed by the cummins with twice the weight. But she did say that if she agreed that it would give me permission to do it next time. And she didnt want that. I said never again. YEAH RIGHT.

Re:Raced a pwrstroke on wed

The only 6.0 I have gotten real close to was being towed behind my truck - literally! Towed my next door neighbor's 6.0L right up to the service doors at the dealership. ;D

Poor guy. It was his 5th trip in in 4 months.

A few dates after I met my fiance, I recieved a call from some buddies, wanting me to come pull 'em out somewhere they got stuck. So, we ran down thier, and yanked 'em out. Afterwards, I thought (hence: didn't askanyone else) it would be fun to spin a donut in the dirt. ;D...... :P ukey :P :-[ > .

She didn't speak to me the rest of the night, and thought that I had ****** her off enought to lose her, but we are to get married here in a few weeks

Re:Raced a pwrstroke on wed

Two questions: Was the Comp on (since you were towing) and what was it set on? Also what tires did you have on since you listed two sizes. Very cool though. I love to see the Powerstrokes loose.

This reminds me that I just read an article testing two new diesels. The Powerstroke 6.0 and the Duramax. The new H.O Cummins was not available so I didnt bother to tell about it earlier but since you just wooped one I will share what I read. First off the magazine was very biased towards the PS. So much it was almost not interesting to read. The told how the PS just worked the DM in almost every test. They claimed the PS would smoke the tires with 2,000 lbs in the bed. Mater of fact the PS 0-60 times improved with the weight for traction control! ??? Sounds like they just didnt know how to drive it. Towing a 7200 lb TT the PS 0-60 was around 23 seconds. The DM was around 30 seconds. And 50-70 the PS was around 12 seconds and the DM was around 14. Not sure how good any of these numbers sound and I havent had time to compare with my truck but the magazine made the new 6.0 Powerstroke sound like it would blow away any truck. I hope when I finally get my DD2's I can be somewhat competive on the road. Mostly towing since the manuals arent real quick off the line. ;D

I hooked bumper to bumper on the road with a 6.0 that had an auto. He had factory tires so I let him hook to his hitch and I hooked to my axle(good bye brake line). I drug him around like there was nothin behind me and he quit braggin. We both wieghed the same.

I had a run in with a 6.0 PS. He saw me and started to roll and got me off the line but once I hit 3rd he wasn't going anywhere. I was able to catch him quickly. I'd like to line up with the 6.0 L and see what they do from a stand still. For a stock truck very quick and they have good acceleration.
