Quick Information For Tonight Please

Does anyone know of free, simple, drafting / geometry / floorplan software downloadable from the net? Link?

Something that can be used to draw rectangles, doorways, circles, arrows, etc., and manipulate their sizes, color, move around, print on 8.5"x11" paper.

For example, something that one can use to draw an emergency exit map - nothing fancy.

This is not detrimental to my little project for work, but I would like to get it done, or at least almost a good start tonight. My search has come up with a few fancy programs that they want high dollars for. Even one I found that has a free trial, Smartdraw is too sophisticated.

Your assistance in this matter is very much appreciated.

Have you tried using your paint program on you computer?

Start>Programs>Accesories>Paint.

With a little practice you can draw about anything you want. It will snap strieght lines and stuff. Have fun, I don't know of any free drawing programs.
Did you try a Google search?

Used paint before, but it seems like a pain to move stuff around, adding text deletes lines. Even get the page set up right. Unless you have some tips.

Practice and read the help screens if you have a question. Have not tried the MS word paint. Think I will go look at it later.

Assuming you have the Microsoft Office Suite or just Microsoft Word installed, you could go to View->Toolbars->Drawing and you'll get a new bar with some basic drawing tools to do lines, shapes, arrows, etc.

Do you have access to Microsoft Visio? That's what I use.
You can download a free trial. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/visio/default.aspx

Thanks for the link MikeyB - I'll look at the demo.

Wild4kst8, I never knew one could draw in Excel.

Forgive me, I'm definitely not software or PC saavy and will admit, I'll never use any of those programs to their full potential - partly because I don't know how.
