quick Computer question

Ok, I finaly got the memory upgrade i have wanted ..got it installed just a few minutes ago, and its working!
(i think)..

So other than inserting them( which I guess I got right, 'cause the 'puter booted up) is there anything else I need to do when installing memory? anything in the settings or anything?

Nah, only been in for 4, however it still happens over here. Ask any Marine, they will take a good beating out back instead of some adverse paperwork, hazing is great training IMO. I was just messing Chrisreyn, a Drill Instructor in the Corps can handle his own business, doesn't need a Corporal to do it for him

Do a right click onto "my computer" and go to properties- this should show you the amount of memory installed.
If it shows what you expect, (like you had 256M and added 512 it should read -- too many for my fingers, wife ain't there to help me ) you are all set.

If not it depends on your computer, but usually you have either not installed the modules correctly-(no added memory shows up) or the bios needs an update (like when installing 512 extra and seeing only 256 extra)

HTH
