Pronunciation ???

Hi all,
I've just got a quick question for you all. While talking with several people around here about diesel performance, and talking about Schieds, we've got two different ways of saying their name. The way I say it is Sheeds. The way everyone else says it is Shides. Wich one is correct? I'd hate to be saying it wrong all the time.

Thanks, *****

I thought it was Schneids?? With an "n"??

Either way, I'd go with "ryhmes with hides".

Don't have a clue why Hoss thought it had a "N" in it,,,,,, but then again,,,,,,, I don't have a clue about quite a few things that Hoss thinks about! ,,,,,,,Which is probably a GOOD thing!

Speaking of German names.

One pronunciation that always gets on my nerves.

Por-sha versus porsh.

Which would be correct, being that Porsche is a both a German name and a German company (originally at least)

(hmmm, maybe I'll start a poll)https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=108985

Well the announcers at all the pulls say "Shide" so that's what I'm going with

Either Vakkkk-Holts or Wokkkk-Holts.

kkkk = that hard k that gets you a spittle shower if standing in front of the person saying it.

Yes it does!!! You were right on the first one......in German that is. It's pronounced Vaak holtz...........but here in the states we pronounce it as Wa Holtz.........the "C" is silent. NOBODY can get it right on the first try........it's so funny with telemarketers Man they butcher that name
