Potential towing disaster...
My brother has an oldmobile Bravada. It has a 4.3l vortec 195hp engine. 3.73 gears all wheel drive. He towed a 3500lb trailer from Texas to Cali. Now everything I know about vehicles tells me this thing shouldn't tow unless it has too. Now I looked at the specs and it says it can pull up to a 5k gross BRAKED trailer. Was he driving a death trap and didn't know it or is this thing fine for 5k and under?
My sister-in-law and her husband used to own a Bravada. Doesn't seem like much of a tow vehicle to me, but I guess for light trailers it would do okay. 5k seems like a bit of a load for that particular vehicle though...even with brakes.

My mother had a '97 grand cherokee that some idiot trailer salesman said she could tow a 24' TT with. She fell for it and next thing you know she's aksing me to set up the hitch for her.
I talked her into buying a equilizer hitch and I could get it to sit level but...
After I set it up for her I took her for a drive and man was she scared. Even if you could get it up to speed, the 4.0l screeming and I know the auto wasn't gonna like it. The you hit the frost heaves.
She never took the trailer out of the driveway after that.
Shortly thereafter, She traded the Grand cherokee for an '03 dodge with a hemi. Much Better.

3500 behind the Bravada should be fine for the occasional pull.GCWR of the 4.3V6/auto/ 3.73 is 10000 lbs. All bravadas have max cooling ,they only need a hitch if it doesnt haveit already.Truck GVWR is 5300lbs,so even if Bravada is at the max of 5300lb,you still have 4700lbs left of legal trailering weight. If i did it every day i think id go with a heavier Tow vehicle. It really isnt any different than pulling 7000lbs with a 3/4 ton truck, which no one questions.
The BOSS owned a Bravada when I met her and towed a two-horse bumper pull behind regularly. Probably weighed 4500 fully loaded and had brakes. The Bravada wasnt enough to counter trailer sway at all, and had a hard time pulling. Wouldnt go over 50mph on the level and tore the rear end up by the time it was a lttle over a year old. I wouldnt suggest a Bravada to ANYBODY... thought it was a POS from day one......probably a good grocery-getter, but thats it.........
