Please School Me on GPS Handheld models
I had one with similar features. It could tell you what direction and distance camp is, backtrack your trail, or if a buddy radioed that he got an elk he could give you the coordinates so you can find him to help.
What it couldn't tell you was that there's a big super steep valley between you and your buddy, or that there's a level road that will practically take you there.
I've since stepped up to a color one that can be loaded with topo maps. Internal compass is also nice, so the GPS knows which way you are facing when not moving.
Lastly, I've had Garmin and Magellan. I'd recommend the Garmin.

Thanks Jeff for the info. I'll give this little one a go and see how it works. Im sure it will work fine for backtracking and getting back to camp while ATVing. If I find a need for a better model, I may get it and sell this one or give it to my son or something.
