Please Please Dont drink and drive

With the holidays upon us and many out having a good time, if you have been drinking ask for a ride home, and if you havent been drinking but you see someone drinking, offer them a ride home. Another one taken way before his time, and it hits hard when its someone you spoke to just a few weeks before. His mother and step father live across the street from me and I would see him with his kids every weekend before he took them to the beach.

Happy and safe holidays to everyone here.

I heard about this story on the radio what a shame guy never even had a chance. There is no excuse at all for drinking and driving its so simple yet people some how seem to screw it up every day.

Sad news. happens all to often. I even know of a few guys with chronic injuries from just getting out of the way of a drunk.

Ironic thing is he was filling in for someone, and then put in a few extra hrs after the shift doing DUI stops, was killed 22 minutes after shift ended.

At $40/cab ride it's so worth not driving home after drinking. Here in Ca,they're regularly convicting drivers with under .08% who fail the field sobriety test. If a car pulls out in front of you, even if they're at fault you get charged as contributing to the accident due to ''reduced reaction time". 1st offense here averages $11,000. Just say no and call a cab or friend.

Please don't text and drive either. The guy that pulled out in front of me from a side road was paying more attention to his phone than traffic. If I hadn't been able to swerve into the oncoming lane I probable would have killed him. This is, was my truck Name: HPIM1613_zpsdtwaef2u.jpg

I have a friend that avoided killing a big Cadillac full of people with his semi by jackknifing it and hitting the car broadside with the drivers. He got a wreckless driving citation for his efforts. Just goes to show that no good deed goes unpunished.

Dammn, that sucks....

And that's Alaska ?

I thought the majority of retards lived here in NJ ? Inattentive driving is rampant here. People just don't care about anything other than their magical, hypnotic, blinky light, mesmerizing devices, and it's gotten way out of hand....

Yep, and this was a local and not a transplant. Got too many of them up here. Winter usually weeds a lot of them out. For some reason, the cop didn't site this guy. Guess the cop figured he had been punished enough getting punched in the face by his air bag. His truck was flattened firewall forward after I drove over his hood.

Cops who don't do their job ? Now I know Youre actually talking about here...lol

Personally, I would have politely requested that the cop ticket him, and if it wasn't happening, filed my own charges within the 30 day time frame allotted here. I would have taken a huge insurance loss on that accident, and made him pay for ruining my ride. Negative, yes, but I'd feel a bit better in some sick way

There were some strange happenings attached to this on. The cop disappeared from the scene before it was over. Cop was "on leave" for 2 months after. When I finally got the report, it was heavily redacted. When I ran his license plate (I wrote it down at the scene), it came back to a false address. The tax assessors office said it was under someone elses name.
