Please give your thoughts and prayers...
Please give your thoughts and prayers to this officer. He was a pall bearer at my Mom's funeral. I didn't know him personally, but I know what his family is going through right now.

This is a sad situation, many such accidents happen when a police officer is racing to an emergency scene.
I am constantly amazed by the way people ignore emergency vehicles on the road. I have witnessed many people not give right of way to these vehicles, often just ignoring them completely.
Our prayers go out to both families of this tragedy, and I have no doubt the word "accident" is appropriate in this matter.

Jack,
I am sending a check for you to add to the donation, I too lost my father at 12 years of age and it does not make for an easy transition to adulthood.
My condolences and prayers for both families.

My condolences and prayers to the families.
Jack, there has been a lot of controversy about police departments using Crown Vics. This was an experienced officer and I suspect he lost control of the vehicle because something went wrong with it - I doubt he made a mistake in his driving.
If you could watch the follow up stories about this and let me know if they come up with anything regarding the Crown Vic. I'd very much appreciate it.
TIA Stan

I never thought about that, Stan, but yes, I will let you know what the followup stories say. I don't know if he made a mistake or not, but I drove past there today because it's on my way to the in-laws and I didn't see where he could have just gone over the line unless he was trying to respond hot and watch his computer or something. Regardless, I'll let you know.
