Thinking about some treadwright BFG A/T retreads. What are some other all terrain tires that are E rated and affordable?

It needs a new throttle body and fluids changed in it. 03 6.0 auto 168K miles has a GN hitch. Everything works and is tight. Interior looks real nice. Not a lot of wear and tear on the floor from getting in and out makes me think mainly highway miles. Hope this thing lasts awhile just gonna use it as a loaner to a worker of mine and for deliveries.

Think I got a good deal on it.

That red thing in the background wouldn't be a late 40's Ford or Merc sedan would it?

Don't know, I'll ask tomorrow. Maybe I should pull the 6.0/4l80E out of the chevy and put it in the red car?

And then find a nice 12v for the Chevy . . .

Texas car prices are ridiculous. That is a 5k to 6k truck here in Ohio.

On tires, we have had good luck the Coopers on a heavy Durango lasting quite a while, and the BFG Radial long trails I have on my 94 are very sticky, but not lasting near as long.

Yeah that is like a chevy 99-02 2500 4x4 with bald mud tires. Looks like it has seen its share of fun logging trails and pipe lines.

I've had real good luck with Firestone transforce a/t, real functional and wear better then I expected. I think I've got almost 30k on the ones on my truck (265/75-16) and still at least half tread left. I run a decent amount of miles with some weight in the bed (trailer or loaded bed/plowing etc) and there's still no cupping or any other uneven wear.

They ran me around $600 for all 4 mounted, had to haggle a bit though.

Figured I'd update this. So far so good on the Retreads. I have about 5,000 miles on them.

See if these pics will show up here from another site I uploaded them to.

I put new speakers, ipod connector, tint, factory chrome wheels, rear pipe bumper (offbrand), a new throttle body, water pump, new delphi fuelpump (really woke it up besides just getting it to crank easily), changed all the fluids, filters and plugs, and cleaned the MAF. I realized the brakes are practically new from the old owner and they turned all the rotors so bonus for me.

I think I have $5500 in it. Going to finish up another project at work and sell this truck to one of the workers and look for an 2011-2012 F150.

My Dodge is all clean and it is now my "nice" car. Keep the doors shut for a few days and open it up and the new car smell has came back strangly!
