pick up my new mossy 500 on the 10th!

Well, on the 10th I get to pick up my new mossberg 500. It's got a 20" barrel and an 8-shot magazine tube! I already ordered the knoxx Industries Spec-ops stock and the powerpack system for it too! ad removed I'm super stoked about it, and I can't wait to take it up to the mountains! I've seen a barrel I want, it's heavier and thicker, and the end is flared with a serrated bevel with a compensator/flash suppressor, does anyone know who makes this? And will it fit? Thanks!

Over at shotgunworld.com there is a guy that goes by CaCruisin' He is the owner of Knoxx.
I think you will much more impressed by the knoxx spec-ops than the ATI. I have a buddy that had the ATI side folder on his 500, Its not a very good stock for field work. the cast was never quite the same from shot to shot.
If your into the Tacti-cool look, you might also look at some of the gear from Wilson Combat.

I also see that Knoxx is within 3 hours from me, if it was just a little closer I'd go over to see them! Wilson has some great products, but I kind of put them in the same category as Banks, it's good, but it's WAY too Gucci (bling bling expensive) for me. Their prices are unbelievable (in a bad way), and all their stuff is for rems 870/1100. I actually just discovered shotgunworld yesterday and spent a good 3-4 hours reading on there! Great site!

Personally, I would go with a heat shield, a tri-rail mount from Cheaper than dirt ($20) and a scope mount for a red dot or halo sight.
I have a Mossberg 88 6 shot, those are on my purchase list...

Wow, I just got my first warning letter and edit. I guess I can't say I'm going to post something in the for sale forums, even though I wasn't saying it was for sale with a price or anything. Oh well, whatever. Hey fronty owner, I'm thinking of going with the ATI heatshield with the ghostring style sights on it. I really don't think I need a scope on it, it'll probably have 00 in it 99% of the time, and the general direction of the barell is good enough for that! If I did put a scope on it, it'd proably be an eotech.

Well, I got my Eotech holosight yesterday and I love it! Here's the specs so far: Mossberg 500 special purpose 8+1 shot with a 20" barrel, ATI heatshield, Mesa Tactical picatinny rail (reciever mounted), EoTech holographic weapon sight. I also have a Knoxx Industries Spec-Ops Stock ordered. I had the ATI folding stock on it, then tried the ATI pistol grip, but ended up putting the factory stock back on until I get my Knoxx. I'll try to get some pics taken to show it off! Fronty Owner, I'm going to check cheaper than dirt for the picatinny forend, the surefire is like $146 or something!

Thumbs up

Here's some pics of it! It still has the factory buttstock on it, but it's soon to get replaced with the Knoxx Spec-Ops stock!

Whoot...Ive had my 500 "home defender" model for years now. Also I have my 500 pump gun I use for duck hunting. I love my Mossbergs, toughest most dependable gun Ive owned. Also, they will fire after you dunk them in mud and water! Dont ask me how many times Ive found about that.

I used to shoot trap a bunch, my old man got me a 20GA over under when I was 10 for it. Over the years I've gathered quite a collection on scatterguns, but all with real nice wood stocks and 26+" barrels, so I thought it was time to set one up JFF (just for fun!). I don't even have one shot through this bad boy yet, I'm waiting for my stock to come in. Then I'm gonna tear it up with some hollowpoint slugs!
