Parking for fuel efficient vehicles only?
Parking for fuel efficient vehicles only?
Went to a new Best Buy the other day and a bunch of spots up front had signs that said "Parking for fuel efficient vehicles only". Got a laugh out of that. Who polices that? Who decides what is a fuel efficient vehicle and what isn't? Would they actually tow you? I was tempted to park there with my truck and take a picture. I mean after all, for their size, our vehicles ARE fuel efficient. Probably risk some Green Peace wacko damaging the truck if I left it there while I went shopping though. Oh well, I need the exercise, I just park in BFE.

I saw one that was for "Green" vehicles. That was back when I had the Green 99. I wanted to park there so bad, but the wife was with me and she wouldn't let me. Why do they have so much power over us?
Diesel burns more efficienctly than gas. I'd park there! What other vehicle on the road the size and weight of a sherman tank gets 20mpg!
Seems the sign could be considered just a matter of opinion.

Well if that is the case why has there not been special parking for motorcycles in the past fifty or more years. I can remember times when my motorcycle was not welcome any where in some places.
I think its pretty dumb to give one 4 wheeled vehicle preferential parking over another based on anything other than disability of the driver.
I think there should be parking for motorcycles, right up front. Parking in a regular spot is just asking to get your bike hit, knocked over, stolen, or vandalized. People complain about bikes being parked in odd places (all out of the way however) because they dont understand.
As to people not liking bikers, it really boils down to the old addage that bikers are "rebels" and "dangerous", and therefore we cause trouble everywhere we go. Now, some of that is our own fault, ok, alot of it is, but its usually grossly overinflated. Simply for throwing a leg over the seat, you have now become public enemy #1 and are in the wrong 100% of the time. Ive actually heard of instances where a 4 wheeled vehicle was at fault in an accident and the rider was told "well, you choose to ride on that thing..." by reporting LEO's
