Paper Plate Performance Enhancement

Has anyone else noticed that vehicles with paper license plates seem to always seem to be the ones zooming by like they have to be there yesterday? What is it about the dealer tag (new or used) that makes those cars perform so much better?

They read on some website that the best way to break it in is "drive it like you stole it!"

Or, the reason they are driving a new one is they wrecked the old one and didn't learn from their mistakes.

You ummm, you disapprove? I mean, you really disapprove?

You're telling me that you didn't find the speed limiter on your truck within the first week?

Thats a simple question.... its a matter of weight... once they put that heavy tin plate on the truck, they cant go as fast as they could with that light-weight paper one.......

I think the fastest my truck has ever gone was 80 mph...and that was way out on the open road in West Texas on a trip from Dallas to Lubbock.

I can say, without a doubt, that the Chevy S-10 I had in high school and college was governed at 90 mph.

I think I might have been just under 85 once in the truck, I-80 west of Salt Lake on the way to Wendover.

Had a car way back when that the speedometer ended at 110, and I had it buried and then some,
and I swear the front tires were "hydroplaning" on the air.

Hoss, I speak on behalf of the entire DTR community when I say that we are disappointed in you. (The half that matters, at least.)
