Old latex paint should easily be removed with Dirtex. Spray can application.

Spray it on and let it sit for a few minutes then give it a little scrub.

You should be able to pick it up at Home Depot in the paint section.

Denatured alcohol is your next best choice.

Then there is "Goof off" which could damage the lino if you are not very careful!

Don't know how much you have but usually you can wet a towell and lay on it for a few miniutes and it will soften it to where you can gently scrape it off with your fingernail. Denatured alcohol works great on latex paint but it will dry the floor out if your not careful, it works best on harder serfaces like concrete. LCH

The Goof-Off will work, I think, but try not to scrub any harder than you need to, and don't leave it on there too long. Follow it up right away with a wet rag.

my Dad installs flooring and swears by Zippo lighter fluid, that stuff takes anything off and does not hurt the finish of the Vinyl.

Zippo fluid and Goof-Off are pretty close to the same thing, I think. At least, they smell about the same.

Latex paint is not that hard to get off. I use a scrubbie(the no scratch) you get at Walmart, alittle hot water and soap your good to go.

Acetone works great for taking the excess glue off after installation, or try some Goof Off
