Padlocks.... Digital style...

Is it just me, or does it seem like the admins are bringing out the padlocks more and more around here...... maybe we all need to think about some of the things that are going on and calm down a bit..... Just a thought and this thread may get a lock too..... who knows.....

not any more than "normal" having done a quick scan on the first page of the different topics I didn't see any locks in several of them.
The six word story has been against site rules for a number of years now. at one piont even an indirect reference ran the risk of a hasty departure. (there was an epidemic of three word stories) as fun as they were, it was an admins nightmare to control content. (family site)

Maybe the locks have come out a bit more lately, these things seem to be cyclic. However, considering the number of posts on any given day, the percentage of locked threads remain very small.
I think this is a great indication of the high quality of our members.

I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary. Threads that NEED to be locked tend to get locked.

Wow, I just realized I've been a Moderator for a year and a half, thought it was only 6 months or so.

In that year and a half I've noticed that it does come in cycles.

May-June it seems people have more time to post, and the frosty beverages are being consumed a bit more, so that leads to more locks.

Still, they aren't pulled out at much as they used to be, or maybe that's just me.
