There are times when she's gonna be mad whether your trying or not. You'll recognize these "season's". Just kinda limit visibility and run the vacuum a couple times til it passes.

Hotdram, a few mods here and there aren't just for hotrodding. They can contribute to longevity and help mileage abit.

Re:Other (non-diesel) Transportation?

Update (if anyone cares):
We test drove the three models she liked. A 2002 Lexus RX-300, a 2003 Honda Pilot and a 2001 Acura MDX. I suggested a Tahoe or Expedition which she also likes, but she decided that she is not comfortable driving that large of a vehicle. I was wanting to like the Pilot because it is an '03 and was a bit larger, but was unimpressed with handling/steering. The Acura was much the same as the Pilot. The Lexus blew us both away. It was the first one we tested and we pretty much new after that ride that the other ones probably were not going to make the cut, but we had to test them anyways. All I can say is WOW, I've never driven anything nicer than my Dad's Camry. Needless to say, there is a "new to us" RX-300 in the garage. Got a good deal on it with 13k miles and Lexus Certified Pre-Owned guarantee (3 years from our purchase date and 100k miles less the 13k on the odometer, bumper to bumper). I still love my truck, but I ove driving that thing too.

Re:Other (non-diesel) Transportation?

Good thread. For those of you still in the same boat or going to be soon, I strongly suggest that as others have said, keep Mama happy and everything else will fall into place. God first, Mama second and you last and you have a winning combination.
As for vehicles I am surprised that nobody mentioned the Nisson's. Their Pathfinder is great. The best of all in my book is the Infiniti for cars as well as SUV's. Their engines are rated as one of the best in the world. Wish the Durango came with a diesel engine. I am not knocking the other vehicles mentioned as they all have their good points.
