Howdy yall!!
Miss me??
Been a busy busy boy and cant get anything to post on that stupid mobile app, so haven't been more than a stalker for awhile.
Lot has been happening over the last few months.
Last Sept, I had some swelling in my "boys" and it became ungodly painful.. Dr couldn't figure it out and after a sonogram, MRI and two CT scans, all they could say was " there's a shadow" on the picture that looks like it involves the colon, bladder, kidneys and *******...
sent me to a second uroligist, and then to an oncologist, none of whom had anything good to say, they couldn't figure it out, white cell count and PSA were all normal.. had me sweating bullets!!!
Honestly, I was updating my will, sold my horses( cant ride anymore anyways) and was getting my stuff in order, it had me that freaked out..this went on from Sept to December of last year...
I was also seeing an Ortho-specialist about some damage to my shoulders and spine, and in late December, got to talking to him about it and where the pain was and such.. he is networked with the other Dr's, so he pulled up the pics and the scans and took a look..goes in the other room, calls my urologist and the oncologist and comes back in to tell me, "aw, its not cancer, they didnt know what they were looking at.."...
turns out Ive ruptured the Inguinal Ligament that runs from the point of the hip to the base of the pelvic bone, and a couple abductors in my inner thigh..
non-surgical, and there's not much they think they can do for it...The "mass" they were seeing was a fluid build up and the remains of the ligament wrapped around inside my gut .....I wanted to go punch that urologist in the freekin throat!! I was scared, not afraid to admit!
But while Im gonna be eternally sore and have to pace myself better,Im gonna be kicking for a bit longer yet..
In December last year, we sold the country place and have bought a 135 yr old historic house in town.. We are only the 4th owners of a house built in 1880, classic Victorian that needs a lot of work. The limestone block foundation needs re mortared, and Im chipping away at it, ( 460 lbs of mortar so far and Ive covered about 10 foot of wall, just 82 left to go!)
I'm also in the middle of replacing all the water supply lines, but am finding I cant do as much in a day as I used to! we're gutting and redoing the kitchen, master bath( already replaced all the cast iron sewage and drain lines), and repairing most of the windows. But I'm stiff/sore enough that I'm taking today off.
I think it was Jack Benny who said " if Id have known I was gonna live this long, Id taken better care of myself"...
well, thats the news from the hawks nest...

Chrisreyn, sometimes it takes the right doctor. My wife had been having abdominal pains, sometimes sever for years. Some thought appendix and others thought diverticulitis, but none of them could ever put their finger on a smoking gun. The wife finally went to my doctor, the one who took care of my diverticulitis a year back. When he reviewed the past CTs and bore scopes he saw what the others missed. She has a badly damaged muscle from a car accident that occurred back in the early 90's. Can't be fixed, but we know what it is and how to avoid irritating it. I'd like to get my money back from those other doctors.

Chris, I'm willing to bet the average chiropractor would have figured that one out is 1 or 2 sessions. Just be glad they didn't get to try some gawdawfull medication or surgery on you just because they couldn't think of anything else.
At that, sounds like reattachment surgery, if possible, might be worth the pain and trouble.
I'm glad somebody opened the break room again.

Cougar, thats kinda what Im dealing with, old injuries finally catching up with me..
the damage to the shoulder/spine are cumulative from stuff starting back in the 80's...
the pelvic damage is probably when I got double barrelled-kicked by a stallion back in about 98..
Good thing they havent done a brain scan.....

Did my taxes, don't know what the penalty is going to be for not having enough taken out of my pay check. Took Roxie out for a walk yesterday, we both enjoyed the sun shine. Caught up on the bills. Just trying to get back to a normal routine now. Thanks for the offer of the wardrobe Lary, but ah, em, eee,,,, I'm good.

Funny you should mention the brain scan though. When they did the full neurological and MRI on me, I got some very strange looks from everyone. Comment included "impossible!", "the machine broke?", "that's not human!", "what is that?".

on another note. Im still adjusting to the idea of being in town, having neighbors and dealing with the city,as well as dealing with the state historical society.. it seems to me to be a long process over little things..
example:
I want to fence the yard for the dog..
should be a simple thing right? Nope..
First I have to make scale drawings of the proposed fence, showing posts, stringers and pickets, up to and including exact angles of the chamfers atop the posts.
take pictures of the existing yard and submit a scale drawing of the proposed fence lines.
supply a materials list, "The fence must be constructed only of materials available at the time the house was built, and be of a style consistent with the architecture of the house."
So that leaves me with 3 choices:
Wrought Iron-- cheapest bid came in at $11000.00
Stone--- would have to be Limestone block and no-one would give me a bid, nor can I find any...
Wood--- and it must be a reproduction of a fence build in the late 1880's to early 1900's..
aggravating to say the least..
I cant use "look-like" products such as a vinyl fence or concrete block.. it must be the original material..
jeeesh people, its a dern dog fence.!

Chris- I was thinking of you a few days ago. Glad to hear you are on the correct side of the flowers. I too, have been given the "get rid of the horses" talk. I still kept my saddle, just in case, but I bet it's a conversation piece now.
Grandson learned a few things this weekend about tools, machines and such. It cost me 60 bucks for his "Big Date", but it was worth every penny!
Have a great week!

Happy Sunday, gang. Just slowing down long enough and the race is over, so thought I would grab some ph00 and see what is happening. No one mentioned putting on the ph00, but it is fresh and good. .................
Chris - - -very neat looking house - - I like it. Always fun to try and find out the history about the house and previous owners. Take your time and do it right - - you could become famous (don't ask me how much that pays - - probably the other way around - - you pay more). Those type houses are few and far between down here. Everything old was normally built on prime spots, like on the Bayfront or beach which means the land is way more valuable than the house - - - which is no longer there but at the dump. Even beautiful 70's and 80's homes, large and plush, are purchased and bull dozed - - they want the land. They two side by side, pay $1million each for them, bulldoze them and build huge modern monsters in their place, live in it for 5 years and sell it for 8 - 12million. WOW.
Just finished watching the end of the road race in St Petersburg. I was there all day yesterday. Cool seeing them go for the big one today rather than the shorter warm ups yesterday. But, the crews were more relaxed so could mingle better. Got to shake with AJ Foyt yesterday and watched them working on his two cars. Cool.
Gone.

After delivering the Grandson home today, I spent the last few hours thinking about what is important. Glad I have health and family to enjoy it!
Now, getting ready for the reality of a work week filled with consternation.... Think I need another weekend starting tomorrow.
In the words of Red Green, "If they don't find you handsome, find you handy"!!
