Only in Texas...

...can it be a clear, spring day with 67 degree temperatures on Tuesday and then be 32 degrees with sleet and snow falling on Wednesday.

I guess the saying still applies....if you don't like the weather today just wait until tomorrow and it will change. I love this state.

Only in Minnesota...

It was 10 degrees on Monday and we had freezing RAIN! Guess the bodyshops will be busy for a while.

-5 degrees today (-20 wind chill) BTW.

Truck is covered with road salt.

Any room left in Texas for a Minnesota boy?

Nah, happens here all the time. Wet air from the gulf meets cold air from Canada, and presto! We went from 60 degrees one day to having 5 inches of snow the next earlier this year, in fact. Killed my Bradford pear tree, split it right down the middle. Good riddance is all I can say. It never bloomed worth a darn, anyway.

I hate winter. I was walking around outside yesterday in a short sleeve shirt and I was comfortable. Then today, I get woken up at 7 by a huge thunderstorm. Now it's freezing cold and I've gotta drive back home in this mess. Maybe I should have left yesterday. I hate winter.

Exactly- Those trees are completely worthless. Introduced in 1963 by the USDA and was a big hit in KC in the 80's and 90's.

In Nebraska the saying is wait 10 minutes! We can have all those extremes happen before lunch!

C'mon up to the great home of the Alberta Clipper. We're just so generous we figure we'll share the season with the rest of the continent! +12C last week, -25C last night (53.6F down to -13F for those of you south of the 49th! What's 66 degrees matter?)

Sheesh, I make good my escape to New England and it's 50* here today.

Though, we did get a little snow Monday. And yesterday AM it was about 5*.

Supposed to rain tomorrow... then cold again. Typical New England winter pattern. Now we just need a storm to match up with some cold weather. I'm a little off: I love winter and snow!

Not anymore. They're all dead now. We cut it down and hauled it to the drop-off site here in KC, where we saw what I'm pretty sure was every other Bradford pear in the city also being dropped off in pieces.
