Oliver/White tractor ROPS

Does anyone know where to find a rollbar/ROPS for an older White tractor? The model number is 1365 and it is from the 70s, but I see more info for it as an Oliver 1365. I have found the ROPS for older Deeres and IHs and such, but not Oliver or White. I am looking at buying the tractor and wanted to have the safety of the rollbar.

Thanks

Sorry I don't know the answer to your question.

I'm glad that you are concerend about the aspects of safety around farm equipment.

(I'm in the farm equipment Biz)

I don't know of a manufacturer of ROPS structures for Oliver tractors, the whole thing sounds like a huge liabbility form a manufacturing standpoint.

But If you do find something, remember that you need seatbelts to make a ROPS effective.

If you aren't held in position by a seatbelt, you will likely just be crushed by the ROPS rather than some other component of the tractor.

Thanks for the info about the seatbelt. I am going to check around some more for a rollbar.

On another note, does anyone know much about these tractors? I bought it today. It is a 55hp diesel. It came with a loader, 6' rear blade, and 6' bush hog for $2300.
Thanks

Check out ytmag.com under the Oliver forum, lots of info there. I can tell you that those are a foreign tractor ,ade for Oliver by Iseki if my memory serves correctly. Tough and reliable from everything I've heard. Good luck with your new purchase.

Nirion,
Hope signature600 chimes in here and corrects me if I am wrong, but here is my best shot. I am not real sure where to find a rops for that tractor, but DO NOT limit yourself to the Oliver brand. That model is a Fiat, which was also sold as an Allis Chalmers 5050 (or 5040, not positive on the 5050) in the late 70's to early 80's also. Fiat tractors where also imported as Heston tractors, though not as popular, I am sure they would have had an equivlent model number. Miabachs (sp?) up in Creston, Ohio is/was a big Oliver dealer and might be able to help as they have a salvage yard also. They specialized in the Oliver Oliver tractors, so not sure how much they can help on the Fiat Oliver tractors. Another option would be Summerix Equipment up in Michigan, BIG Allis boneyard(guessing) dealer. As far as more local, well Signature600's family has an Agco dealership down in Jeffersonville Ohio, he might be able to help you our or point you in the right direction.

$2,300 is pretty cheap for that tractor by itself, let alone with the implements. Is it rough? Decent tractors as far as I have ever heard, have ran the Allis version and it seamed like a nice tractor. Have never heard of any glowing problems and they do sell high sometimes, so I think you may have gotten a good deal.

Good luck,
DuaneW.

Thanks for the info on ytmag.com and the other makes that will be the same tractor. Chris (signature600) is only about 2 hours from me and I was planning on calling his dealership Monday.

The tractor runs well and isn't rusted or beat up. I bought it from my wife's aunt after her husband passed away. I also got a 16' trailer to pull it form $700. I plan on using it to brush hog and do other work on the land my wife and I bought that we won't be able to build on for a year or two.
