(old) snowmobile question?

Does anyone know how to tell if a coil is bad? The sled is a 1976 Artic Cat Panther 4000.

Usually I see moonshine....ummmmm...... home-brewed diesel fuel additive dripping on the ground if the coil's bad......

Oh you said a snowmobile engine coil.........Forget what I said before.....

Hold the end of the spark plug wire in your hand and have a buddy pull start it... better yet, have him hild the wire and you pull.

Plan B is definitely the one to go with.

Or you could put a spark plug into the wire and check it as you pulled it over.

If it's not on the engine, i'll be darned if I can remember!!

All good ideas! The thing is that I already know that it isnt sparking, but is it the coil? Yes I did grab the wire and hit the key (electric start)

Did you check the link I posted earlier?

It had procedures for testing an ignition coil.
