Question Old Boat Decal Removal??

Anyone know something real good to take off some old baked on decals on a boat? Tried some spray on foam type stuff that has worked well on other stuff, but that didn't seem to phase it?! Also tried covering it in 3M Adhesive remover and that didn't do squat! So what's some good stuff that won't harm fiberglass?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!

Tony try some goo be gone it should not attak the glass. I see your in se Mi. so go to west Marine they have the stuff you need there. Acetone will probably do it to but I can't remember if it attacks the gelcoat. but use the goo be gone it will work I just changed my charter license decals and used the goo be gone.

I just did mine. But the boat is only 3 years old. I used a carpet knife razor blade. You might try a hairdryer or even a little bit of diesel on a rag. Good luck

They make a hard rubber wheel that goes into end of drill. It can be bought for about $40 at autopaint supply store. It will take off old pinstip or decals or anything else that was stuck on paint. It will not hurt the paint. As you are using it the wheel gets smallerl and smaller. It reaslly works good.

I used to work at a marina and when we got new boats in they had some sort of black writing on them for the factory and we had to remove it. The only way to remove them was acetone and a rag. That worked real well and it was right on the fiberglass so I don't think it will hurt it. They have done it for years. Dont think that applies to a car though.....trust me

Tony, fingernail polish remover. Try a small spot first, but that is what I used after the marina tipped me off. Works also on paint, like the boat name on the blunty end of the boat.

Thanks for all the great tips! My buddy picked up one of those rubber wheels and had it off pretty quick! Thanks again!
