Old air compressor
I had to get a new air compressor up at where I work. The one we had burned up. I decided the old one would make a nice, small BBQ pit for camping. We also had an old one that we never used, and after checking it out, it will only fill up to 40 psi. I figured hey, make two of them. When I got the oldest one home, I figured out its a Sears, and it is serial number 59. Isn't that crazy? I'm no sure what it needs. I'd like to keep it intact now. It can pump more psi. It just seems like there may be a valve somewhere that's popping off not letting it. Anyone got any experience with these? This thing not only has no belt guard, but it has no places to put a belt guard. Like no tabs to even mount it with.

I'm no expert but if it's that old I'd be seriously looking at the tank for rust holes, water left in the tank over the years will cause that. Watch out for pin size holes that can and will crack causing the tank to explode. 40 psi will take off a few fingers.
I had a home made compressor a few years back with pin hole on the bottom of the tank. I let it get back to 0 psi and drilled the tank with plenty of 1/4" holes so no one would take it from the trash for reuse.
Be safe and good luck.
