Well you just have to do what you have to do. Just for the record, Back in 1979 my wife was hit head on by a drunk driver at 11:00am who JUST HAPPENED to get out of jail the SAME morning for a DWI the night before. Without going into all the details, she was not expected to live through the night. Right now she is looking at having a knee replaced (at 50 yrs old) and having the other one repaired AGAIN. Drunk drivers??? I HAVE NO SYMPATHY FOR THEM.. I guess you know what I would do.

LOL, i bet he was bright and shiney! especially to have passed out in his own driveway, without putting his car in park. Its good he'll pay for the damages. Whenever someone has ever done that stuff to me, I had to come over and talk to them while playing with my Katana. They got the idea real fast! You let him off the hook because your a nice guy That should be your excuse when you tell this story again!

Ok, Im a tad scared of Dom.....

Mike, if it were me, I would let him know that Ill let it go this time - but if I ever see him come home drunk again - the police WILL be called. Wouldnt be a bad idea to talk to your close neighbours as well.

Not reaping the full consequences of his behavior is just enabling him to do it again. That’s not good for him or for anyone exposed to his drinking. I understand the wanting to be nice but the nicest thing you can do for a person who drinks like that is to let him experience the full consequences of his drinking.

No sympathy for drunks here. If they get drunk to have fun and then drive, then I guess their idea of fun is pretty dangerous. Get drunk to help forget your problems? The answer to your problems isn't at the bottom of that bottle.

Nobody likes to hear about the drunk who took out 3 telephone poles and then plowed into a car full of kids killing all of them and the drunk lives through it. Get that guy off the road!

What you want to do, and what is the best thing to do in the long run, are two different things unfortunately. Problem is as Mikmaze stated he has to live next to this. There are/can be tremendous repercussions as a result of doing the non neighborly thing.. IE go to work come home your dog is dead or your place smashed or broken into or you name it. You never really know who you are dealing with. Then it’s the Hatfields and Mccoys all over again. At least the guy says he will step up and pay for the damages. If he has a conscience at all, just having the neighbors know that this happened would suck also. Who knows what the guy is going through at home or work with family etc. Something like this could be the straw that broke the camel proverbial back, SNAP and the guys off killing everybody that ever done him wrong. Of course he would be cured in a big way by a good ol bumper draggin, the CTD wouldn’t give a hoot, but then you run the chance of scratching the bumper with the chain.

Ohh, that rarely happens Dr.Evil! Like I said, I'm a pretty nice guy, or so I've been told. That only happened once, when a guy slammed into the back of my truck, and caused serious damage that took my income away (My truck is how I make money). Basically I've had to drive my fiance's explorer, and make no money. I feal guilty not being able to help pay the bills at the moment. My truck comes back tomarrow morning, fully finished.

Ohh and Dr.Evil, I have freakin' sharks with freakin' lazer beams attatched to their freakin heads. The mutated Sea Bass are optional!
