Re:Offroad fun
Good pics Alpine. I've got a brother-in-law that's from Finland. Some of the pics I've seen from there have similar looking terrain, etc. I'm not real familiar with the geography in that part of the world. Are you very close to Finland.

CR
Re:Offroad fun
Great pix Alpine. Glad to see someone using a 4x4 as it was designed for. Looks like what you gave up in size, you certainly gained in power. Did you bottom out going over that hump?

edit- BTW, did you ever find a lock for your cap (topper)?

Re:Offroad fun
Looks like you had alot of fun there Alpine.

Reminds me of our trip out Saturday. we went riding in the Ocala Forest and there was probably 9 - 10 jeeps out 4 wheelin. Some where new and a few were pretty old. I should have brought my camera but I didn't think about it until we were out there. Not going to make that 2 or so hour trip back just for a stinkin camera. It was cool to see a line of jeeps pass as you wait to get back on the trails.

So was this a race you entered into? I see you have the #11 on your truck. What place did you get? Looks like some pretty nasty terrrain you were going through there.

Thumper

CR- We are quite a bit away from Finland.

Thumper- Yes it was a bit nasty- the course was set for small vehicles like Willis Jeep etc- Went quite good- 3 runs with 0 points. Ex aequo lead at the points, lost at the speed. (You've got to be careful with the big momma)
Overall 2nd.
RTO- You are invited to come over

Commatoze, Thanks! Yes did bottom out lots of times on this course. Lost my reverse light and front license plate . Everything that was put on by the factory stayed on. No I didn't find a lock yet. Action didn't even reply to my e-mails
One of these " Kettenkrad " thingies---- over here, in mint condition a little over 500k US$/pc- less than 50 left from WW2
I love seeing these things going offroad. Respects to the rider.
Re:Offroad fun
A buddy of mine called me the other day and said he was stuck and was curious if I could pull him out. I said sure (even though I had just polished all the mud off the WHOLE underbody from this summer). I had been wanting to go anyways. So I go out there. He said it wasn't that muddy. My friend is a bad liar. I barely made it out there. I was in 4x4 and although it was a grassy field, with all the rain we had been having, if you let off the gas, you felt the truck sink instantly, and deep. Needless to say, he had gotten stuck in a lake (second time for this to happen). Not only could I not pull him out, but a truck with 44 boggers couldn't get enough traction to pull him out. It took the 44 equipped truck, and another truck with 37 swampers to pull him out. It was fun though. Truck was/is extremely muddy but looks good.
