Official Super Bowl XL thread
Lets hear your take...here is mine:
Seahawks SUCK! Overrated! Play in the NFC WEST (worst division). Easy schedule. Alexander is not the leagues MVP. They are a good team but not a super bowl type and I have a feeling they are a one hit wonder. The game was called kinda crappy but they still lost. Go STEELERS. Big Ben played like crap but got it done. Even though im a 49ers fan and now they also have 5 rings. I love seeing the seattle fans crying!...12th man?! Why dont they get their own saying other than stealing Texas A&Ms. It was also nice to see the bus get his ring. All in all it was a good game with the rightful team winning. Kiss my Edit Paul Allen!

There was a game???
Thought I'd get to watch it at work tonight as no workers scheduled. NOT HAPPENING....Had Military Police and Fire Department responding to alarms.
No problems, but all I got to see was the National Anthem and the Post game show.

During the post game show, When they were going to give away the MVP of the game trophy, my brothers says he thought the officials were going to step up and take thier prize. I agree with Steve Young and the rest of the game announcers ...two bad calls took away one TD and a first down on the 2...that wins the game . I had no favorite...my team was gone along time ago, I just call'em like I see em. And I have seen worse push-offs in high school girls basketball. You asked, JMHO.

Man, the refs stunk in this one. Leave it up to the players man, not the zebras. The push-off, the hold, the touchdown scramble, the cut block on Hasselbeck, come on, let them play. The commercials were terrible too.
I think I'm still ticked off cuz of the Broncos

As a Steeler fan I am happy but dissapointed too. the game was so anticlimatic. The first half sucked for our offense but our D held good. stressfull game and i agree there were some bad calls but thats not a problem after parker runs it back. Once the **** 2 week rust was off we came back as the team that whoops butt.
As a fan of one of the teams playing, I really must say I am really turned off by all the **** marketing and all other crap that interrupts the play of the game. From the week long media coverage, to the constant commercials, to the crap halftime show (twice as long as normal) to the brand new football after every play! All of it robs from the game.

I was looking forward to a much more exciting game, but anti-climatic is the right word for it.
The ref'ing was bad and had as much to do with the outcome of the game as the players did.
I actually think the Seahawks played the better game.
The commercialism is getting out of hand when it interfers with the game , i.e. the new ball bit.
Over all a very disappointting spectacule....

Only saw two bad calls and they had nothing to do with the game. I'd like to know who the heck thought it would be "in good taste" or "entertaining" to put a blind guy on stage and then flank him with six fellows tapping around with white canes and dark glasses. Give me a break!!! That was NOT funny or entertaining!!! And then halftime, Hyper Mick and the Gereatrics. OK, I feel better now. For what it's worth, I thought the calls the officials made were accurate BUT I don't believe Pittsburgh played a cleaner game then Seattle, they just didn't get caught as often.

pitsburgh was lucky to be in that game, after the terrible game they had in the playoffs..... not finishing tackles among other things, they are just lucky they got to play against a team that just barely got to the bowl...... Game was one of the very forgetable, the best part of the game came before the kickoff, the tribute and presense of 39 years worth of mvp's Seeing how they look today was a surprise.

Bingo.
Let's see-- we had a pre-grame show, a Coin Toss show, a Kickoff show, a Halftime show (featuring Stones that are almost as obscene as JJ's breast was), a post game show, an MVP show....
(this DTR middle-if-the-rant Half-time show brought to you by Gillette-- the French Commies that have you paying $2.50 for a crappy razor refill)
Gee, if we break the game down into 20 different stages, then we can auction off a separate sponsorship for each.
And what's with the crappy audio and engineering execution? Jagger starts singing and there's no sound! I was under the impression that PROFESSIONALS were supposed to be doing the sound. Silly me.
The Super Bowl is becoming a parody of itself. They're cashing in the greatness of previous Super Bowls (back when it was real) to get rich off advertising. Funny how there hasn't been a "legendary" Super Bowl in so long.
(Stay Tuned for the Verizon Post-Rant show, where we will announce the winner of the Most Valuable Character in the text of this rant.)

Ehh. I didn't think it was that bad. You just need to look past all the commercialism and everything else and concentrate on the game. Look past the fact that it cost $2.5 million for a 30 sec commercial or the fact that they seemed to be mocking stevie or the horrible sound effects or the bad calls. Somewhere amongst all of that mumbo jumbo there is a football game. That's what ya need to concentrate on. If ya do just that then it wasn't all that bad of a game. And if your still having trouble looking past all that, then screw it and get another beer and have a party.

THAT HALF TIME SHOW SUCKED!!!!!!! The stones are horrible and always have been..............shut up and go back to the nursing home you old GEEZERS!!!
I didn't mind the game, the officiating sucked but when doesn't it? Some of the commericials were stupid, but for the most part I thought they were pretty darn funny!! The budweiser commericials were by far the best, I laughed my butt off on almost all of those...........especially the one with the bear...THAT WAS HILARIOUS!!!
I wish the Hawks would have one, never been a big fan of the Steelers. But whatever, they played a decent game and probably had one of the coolest plays I have ever seen in a super bowl.........that little flea flicker was awesome!
