I know this is not truck related but I had such a good time I just had to share. My girlfriend set me up with a day on Lake Fork with guide James Caldemeyer(http://www.officiallakeforktrophybass.com/). Within the first hour of fishing I had caught the three largest fish I have ever caught. And they all came in order of smallest to largest. The first one I caught was 6 lbs 7 oz. The next was 7 lbs 7 oz and the third was 9 lbs. WOW, I had a great time. James is a first class guide. I learned quite a bit from him that day. He is very professional but laid back, and is more than willing to teach. BTW, I stopped by Diesel Performance in Emory on the way home and they no longer have a dyno.

Used to fish "the Fork" with my buddy a lot. Nice fish!
Were they all "slot fish"? I caught a couple that pushed 10 lbs but they were all too short to keep.

 

I haven't been fishing on Lake Fork in several years but boy was it a blast when I did. I caught a few but never used a guide. The lake is so beautiful it's not a waste of time to be there no matter what you catch!

well?? did you throw them back to let them grow or put them on the wall? I'd throw them back. There's plenty of bass to catch. Those pictures would be enough for me to enjoy. Nice fish though. I wish the lakes here had a higher quantity of that quality of a fish.

 

Back when I fished Fork the "slot" was 14-21 inches. You could only keep anything over or under that. Real bummer when you catch a 9lb fish and it's too little to keep.

 

Y'know, you don't need to keep 'em anymore- take the measurements and a photo for coloring the mount; a good taxidermist will make an "artificial mount" for you. You get the trophy, plus the beast gets to keep breeding with those giant bass genes! Everyone wins.

BTW, nothing is off topic in the "Other" category. Place to talk about ticks, bamboo flooring, dogs, beer, the "Progressive" commercial girl (one of our members was smitten by that particular kitten)...

Ain't that the truth, as a kid I caught a 53" Northern with most of a 28" long Northern stuck in his mouth...He had swallowed all but about 3" of the tail, and still hit on a spoon.

That was up by Leaf Rapids.

Too bad they don't let you keep them kinds of fish anymore, I would like to take my kid up there sometime.

 

I fish quite a bit and never keep anything. I just enjoy being out on the water. (i.e. NOT AT WORK) Pictures are enough for me.

Very nice catch..We've fished all over Texas when my father was pres of BASS for TX..since then moved on to saltwater sportfishing but never turn away a bass fishing invite.

 

So do I!!
