Your state franchise tax board should have a fuel tax division.

I've seen DPS do dips on fuel tanks, so notifying them would probably get the ball rolling. If possible, I would personally leave an anonymous tip to the person in the wrong warning him and prompting him to stop using it, and if he refuses then report it. But that's JMHO.

I had a large response typed to this, but I will leave it as this:

What business is it of yours if someone is using off road fuel in their truck?

The taxes one person avoids have to be made up by the rest of the population.

I'm not rich enough to carry someone else's tax share on top of what I'm already paying.

Yeah I see that Off-Road pump when I fill up just like you.
But I won't put it in my truck to save a few cents a gallon.......my parents brought me up different I guess.

I'm all about being a man about things, and I'd confront him with no fears, but somethimes I think about my family and some butt hole...

Leave him a note. Tell him that you know, and you will report him unless he stops.

If he don't, then report him.

That's your call...

Well, even if it is your belief to pay taxes for every little thing so the goverment can screw us more doesn't mean people should go around tattle tailing on people that to not share the same belief..

When I studied Government in school (a hundred or so years ago), I guess I was absent the day that they said we could pick and choose which laws we had to obey......

Silly me....

If you saw that same person stealing from your neighbor's house, you'd still say it's none of my business?

The bottem line is that it is ILLEGAL. Belief in paying taxes or not is besides the point. Do you report him? That's your call. But if you knew someone was stealling your neighbors newspaper, what would you do about that? Thats just as illegal as use RedDye non-taxed fuel on the road.

Contact your local dot truck enforcement division, they handle those things.

Although I agree with Shovelhead, I am curious as to why you would want to "rat" someone out? We all make our own bed and eventually we find ourselves laying in it.

If you do indeed turn him in, you better not let anyone know, unless you have complete control over things like cut brake lines, fluids other than fuel in your tank....... goes around comes around, and man what you could cost him, coult make him mad enough for it to cost your life.

And on the prefix of all of us being good DTR members... keep it clean.

I'd be mad if I saw some dude makin a killin, while I did the right thing. I do not know if I would personally pick this battle, but something else might rub me the wrong way that you would think was silly....

Let's have a little respect.

Well. i guess this could get ugly, but if you see some random person using off road instead of regular. You don't know their situation, maybe with the high fuel cost every little peeny he can save might be the difference from keeping food on the table for his family. It really isn't a whats right or whats wrong anymore when it comes to fuel. It is different than If I saw someone steeling stuff or causing damage to stuff. I'm sure there are tons of people on here that are running the red stuff just to save some coin, personally for me it isn't worth the risk of getting caught and it is to much of a pain to get for the savings. It seems like it used to be 30 to 40 pennies cheaper, but now it is only like 10 cents cheaper. Not worth it in my book, but I wouldn't go around tellin on people that are. I was raised different I guess..
