Now what?

Has anyone noticed the price of Diesel fuel sneaking up again?
Last week I paid $2.53/ gallon and now the same station is up to $2.69/ gallon and there is one going for $2.79/ gallon across the street.
So now what is their story?
Did we have to pay for the fuel in the Space Shuttle since they converted it to diesel or something?
Wondering.. Jim

The Saudi King died and the commodity speculators are now using that as their latest excuse to jack the price of oil up even further.

Yea, what is this about all of the 76 stations, I noticed they were all like bright red in color?
I actually thought the chineese had taken them over by the color but then I noticed the name had changed down in the corner of the sign.
Does anyone know if United Stated ever went into a foreign country like in say France or Tiwan or Ethiopia and taken over all their gas stations or convence stores?
Just an inquiring mind.

Supply & demand. Without enough refineries (thanks to environmental wacos) to supply demand price goes up. Without enough supply ( anti Anwar drilling envinonmental wacos once again) prices go up.

I got an idea! Take the wacos and turn them into oil! Price would be $1.19 a gallon! There are enough of them around!

Do you mean like a modern day "Soylent Green"for our trucks?
Wouldn't that be considered Bio-Diesel?

I don't know. I think they tend to be kind of thin skinned creatures. Might wear out to quick.

Unocal's Onshore domestic production and distribution assets (along with the Circle K franchise) were purchased by Tosco several years back. Tosco was in turn pruchased by Phillips, which was then purchased by Conoco. Tosco also purchase the rights to the 76 meatball which is now owned by Conoco Phillips. Brand familiarity, marketing toll, etc. Similar to BP acquiring ARCO and contnuing to market under the ARCO name.

The Chinese are trying to purchase what is left of Unocal, which is the far east offshore production assets.

Paper this morning said China has backed out, and the ball is in Chevrons court now.

Nah! Recycled environmentalist only will convert to a rather "green" colored liquid fuel.. Just like the original organic material it came from, the "green" fuel has no meaningful heat value by itself and requires expensive, exotic hydrogen gas to be burned with it to make an engine even run.
One positive note, there sure appears to be bunches of them available to be rendered into fuel..
