In the good old state of California there is a law that states that if you do have a dog in the back of the pickup it must be restrained, but there is an exception for livestock dogs or working cattle dogs. As long as you are going to and from work. I guess I am allways going to and from work. If you can't train you dogs right then you should have them restrained. Darn city folk.

I've had dogs for 40 year, and they have all ridden in the back of my truck, on trailers, tractors, and ATV's. I have never seen a dog jump out of a moving truck. I'm sure it has happened, but just as people are injured or killed everyday in accidents, but that doesn't mean we need a law. We have enough laws, thank you very little.

There should be a law against people wanting make "feel good laws" !

They have a law up here in Canada that states if you have a dog in the bed of a truck you must have it restrained in such a fashion it cannot get its paws on the bed sides. I have always had my lab inside the cab with a harness on and strapped in the back seat incase of a fender bender. i didnt need a law to tell me a 70lb dog to the back of my head would hurt...

Actually,,,,,,,,,, Cockroach (my name for him cause I ain't calling him Bruiser, ,, the name the wife gave him or BooBoo,,,,,,, the name our grandaughter calls him) ,,,, came out pretty good on the deal. His bigger sister Roo (once again,,, my name cause she can jump 4 feet straight up like a kangaroo,,, Her given name is Lacy) enjoys riding in the car seat with J.D. (Jaci Dale) and they keep each other occupied.

This is another one of those bull---- laws. i have no problem with the govt spending our tax dollars on these valuable studies and advising us that we are safer if we wear motorcycle helmets ,or wear seat belts,or seat belts for our dogs. my problem is them thinking they have the right to enforce them.

Doesn't bother me if you don't wear a helmet. Just make sure you die in a crash 'cause I (mr taxpayer) don't wanna take care of a veggie or have my insurance rates go up because our carrier had to breathe for you.

Although helmets do work, the insurance industry would like us to believe that unhelmeted riders are one of the major causes of rising rates within the insurance industry. Uninsured/unhelmeted riders account for LESS than 1% of the total payouts in the industry. Kinda makes you wonder where all that money is going, doesn't it?

if they can waste our taxdollars buying 900.00 toilet seats and send 117 billion to iraq i won't mind if they have to help a few of the people who are giving them their hard earned dollars for their bull----
